English and Literature
COURSE DESCRIPTION
English and Literature is a programme with the aim to prepare teachers of the English language as well as educators in one of the selected content areas (science or arts).
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
Turan IU students will be able to learn how to use basic theories and research related to language structure and acquisition. Understand the basic concepts, principles, theories, and research related to the nature and role of culture and cultural groups to create positive learning environments for English language and content learners. This will help develop language and literacy for English language learners.
Turan IU students will use evidence-based practices and strategies related to planning, implementing, and managing standardized ESL. Turan IU students will be knowledgeable about program models and have teaching strategies to develop and integrate language skills. The university will integrate technology and select and adapt classroom resources appropriate for their students.
